Beekman Social is looking for a sharp, culturally plugged-in Social Strategist who is equally comfortable leading strategy and brainstorms and skilled at shooting social-first content. This is not a desk-only strategist. This person brings the thinking and shows up on set; guiding shot lists, directing talent, and making real-time creative calls to ensure every piece of content has a strategic reason for existing before it's ever captured.
This is someone who thinks about platform specific content. They know the difference between content that performs and content that converts, and they know how to build a strategy that serves both. They can write a tight brief, run a shoot, analyze what the data is telling them, and translate all of it into a clear point of view that a client and a creative team can rally around.
They are endlessly curious, deeply collaborative, and never precious about their ideas. They want to build things that matter and they understand that a great strategy is only as good as the content it produces.
WHO YOU ARE
- A strategic thinker who leads with insight and follows through with execution.
- Equally comfortable in a client presentation and on a content shoot to move fluidly between both worlds.
- Deeply fluent in the social landscape across platforms: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, SnapChat and whatever is emerging next.
- A natural collaborator who can align creatives, clients, and producers around a shared vision without losing momentum.
- A lover of culture: entertainment, music, fashion, food, art, internet moments, and everything in between.
WHAT YOU’D DO
- Develop platform-specific social strategies that are rooted in audience insight, brand objectives, and cultural relevance.
- Concept and contribute to social-first content shoots; from pre-production planning and shot list development to on-set creative direction and real-time decision making.
- Partner with content creators, graphic designers and copywriters, and video editors to ensure all creative output is strategically sound and platform-optimized before and after capture.
- Build and present strategic frameworks, content calendars, and creative briefs that give teams a clear north star.
- Analyze performance data post-publish and translate learnings into actionable optimizations and next steps.
WHAT YOU’VE GOT
- Minimum 3–7 years of experience in social media strategy, preferably at an agency or within a brand environment.
- Hands-on experience contributing to or leading social-first content shoots.
- Fluency in content strategy, community management, comms planning, and social analytics.
- Understanding of the broader marketing and communications mix and how social ladders up to larger campaign goals.
- Strong presentation and storytelling skills. You can make a deck sing, making clients feel confident in the work we’re doing.
- Experience working alongside or directly with talent, publicists, and brand stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to be a connective force across creative, strategy, and client teams.
- Existing design and deck development skills are a plus.
- Passion, hustle, and an unrelenting curiosity for where social is headed next.
