Our client is a professional services firm specializing in comprehensive financial and accounting solutions for a diverse portfolio of for-profit and nonprofit organizations. They are seeking a self-motivated, experienced Accountant to join our fully remote team.
In this role, you will act as a vital partner to their clients, ensuring financial accuracy, maintaining robust internal controls, and ensuring full compliance with all applicable regulations. This position is 100% remote and open to candidates within North Carolina.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-Cycle Accounting: Manage transaction entries, maintain organized backup documentation, and reconcile bank, credit card, and investment accounts.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheets) and maintain the general ledger and sub-ledgers.
- AR/AP Management: Process and pay invoices; manage accounts payable and receivable for multiple entities.
- Grant & Fund Accounting: Track grant expenses and budgets in accordance with agreements; prepare documentation for grant submissions and funder reporting.
- Audit & Compliance: Assist external auditors by gathering necessary account information; support internal control evaluations and file federal, state, and local tax forms.
- Budgeting & Analysis: Assist clients with annual/quarterly budgets, variance analysis, and the allocation of monthly expenses across funding sources.
- Client Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and vendors via phone, email, and text to resolve issues and provide financial insights.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Multi-Client Management: Proven ability to manage the competing priorities and deadlines of multiple clients simultaneously.
- Software Proficiency: High proficiency with QuickBooks Online and payroll processing platforms.
Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles.
