Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a highly detail-oriented and analytical Procurement Support professional to play a pivotal role in optimizing procurement operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality, accuracy, and efficiency of procurement requests while supporting advanced sourcing and supplier management activities across multiple categories.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in procurement operations, sourcing triage, quality assurance, and third-party risk management. This individual is a strong communicator, proactive problem-solver, and trusted partner who can operate independently while collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams.
Scope of Responsibility:
- Strategic oversight of Purchase Requisition (PR) and Purchase Order Change Request (POCR) quality control
- Development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives
- Advanced sourcing triage across multiple categories, including:
- Technology
- Marketing
- Services
- Media
- Rest of World (ROW)
- New Supplier onboarding
- Leadership and mentorship support for Procurement Operations, including training and development of Buy Desk Advisor team members
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Request Quality & Compliance
- Strategically validate and optimize procurement requests for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
- Ensure adherence to SOX regulations and internal procurement policies while identifying opportunities for process improvement
- Conduct in-depth contract reviews, validating:
- Contract value
- Item type
- Currency
- Service dates
- Payment terms
- Billing structures
- Identify and resolve discrepancies proactively
Sourcing & Supplier Collaboration:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with sourcing managers to understand commodity nuances, contract structures, and category-specific exceptions
- Collaborate closely with Supplier Data Management to ensure accurate and timely supplier and pay site creation
- Assign appropriate Third-Party Risk Management (3PRM) leads based on detailed taxonomy review and risk assessment
Quality Assurance & Process Optimization:
- Implement and oversee robust quality control checks across assigned workflows
- Maintain ownership and accountability for procurement requests from initiation through completion
- Guide requesters through procurement processes and provide hands-on support as needed
- Identify root causes of issues and recommend scalable process improvements
Reporting & Systems Support:
- Provide aging and status reports for pending requests across procurement systems and workflows
- Validate data across dashboards to ensure accurate reporting for Triage, Buy Desk, and Contract Operations teams
- Leverage triage reporting to drive data-backed sourcing project assignments
- Partner with Technology teams to log and track interface or system issues using JIRA tickets
