Crane Field Service Technician (Eastern U.S.)
ABOUT THE ROLE
As part of the America’s team, SANY is seeking an experienced Crane Field Service Technician to support our OEM service operations across the Eastern United States. With deep investment and backing from SANY Group, the Americas business continues to grow rapidly, and this role is critical to supporting customers with factory-level service expertise.
This position is responsible for providing field service, diagnostics, commissioning, and technical support for SANY rough-terrain, crawler, and all-terrain cranes. The role combines hands-on repair expertise with customer-facing technical support, ensuring equipment performance meets SANY’s global standards for reliability and safety as the organization continues to expand its market presence in North America.
With current revenues just short of $1B, SANY America continues to make strong progress and significant investments in the Americas market; the organization is now pursuing an aggressive growth strategy and is looking to move quickly beyond this initial platform and increase their market share.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical crane systems at customer sites or in the field
- Provide on-site support for the assembly and disassembly of SANY cranes
- Support crane commissioning, setup, and functional testing for new equipment deliveries
- Conduct scheduled maintenance and warranty service in accordance with SANY OEM standards and documentation
- Calibrate and troubleshoot crane control systems, including LMI, RCL, and CAN-based electronic systems
- Interface with SANY’s technical team in Peachtree City, GA for escalation support, parts coordination, and root-cause analysis
- Provide on-site operator and technician training as required
- Accurately complete service reports, warranty claims, and parts documentation
- Maintain professional customer relationships and represent SANY America’s brand and quality standards in all interactions
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 5 years of mobile, crawler, or heavy crane service experience
- Strong working knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems, schematics, and load control devices
- Proficiency using diagnostic tools and laptop-based service software
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to meet travel, scheduling, and field service requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Technical degree or equivalent certification in diesel technology, hydraulics, or mechatronics
- OEM or authorized dealer service background
- Experience with crane configurations such as luffing jib and super-lift systems
- CDL Class B license
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Advanced mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Strong understanding of crane structure, operating principles, and manufacturer assembly/disassembly procedures
- Effective communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently in the field while collaborating with internal technical teams
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- REMOTE + FIELD (SALES / SERVICE)
This role is primarily remote and includes regular travel to customer or field locations. Work may be performed in a home office setting as well as customer sites, requiring standing, walking, and use of PPE as applicable.
