Overview
Our client is seeking a highly technical Regional Service Manager II to support advanced commercial HVAC and hydronic systems, with a strong focus on heat pump technology, refrigeration cycles, and decarbonization initiatives.
This role serves as a senior technical authority and field escalation resource, supporting system start-ups, commissioning, troubleshooting, and customer training across North America. The position is hands-on, field-based, and operates with a high degree of independence. No direct reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert technical support for commercial heat pump and refrigeration-based HVAC systems
- Support system start-ups, commissioning, diagnostics, and field troubleshooting
- Deliver customer and owner training during site visits and start-ups
- Act as a technical escalation resource for regional field service teams
- Troubleshoot systems using building automation and communication protocols:
- BACnet
- Modbus
- Anybus
- Apply strong electrical fundamentals related to commercial HVAC equipment
- Support new product introductions and emerging high-efficiency HVAC technologies
- Maintain accurate documentation, schedules, and follow-ups
- Manage customer interactions professionally while traveling nationally
Travel & Schedule
- Weekly travel Monday–Friday
- Occasional weekend travel due to logistics (rare)
- Employee manages travel bookings and schedules
- Expenses reimbursed on a regular cycle
Required Qualifications
- Strong technical background in commercial HVAC systems
- Hands-on experience with:
- Heat pumps
- Refrigeration cycles and refrigeration loops
- Experience with building automation systems (BAS/BMS) and protocols:
- BACnet, Modbus, Anybus
- Solid understanding of HVAC electrical fundamentals
- Experience supporting field start-ups, commissioning, and customer training
- Ability to work independently in a field-based role with extensive travel
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Commercial HVAC service, field engineering, or technical support background
- Experience with energy-efficient or decarbonization-focused HVAC technologies
- Prior experience serving as a technical escalation or subject-matter expert
- Familiarity with hydronic systems and boiler/heat pump integration

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
