Duties
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot smart home systems including lighting, security, climate control, audio/video, and low voltage wiring.
- Use hand tools and specialized equipment to perform precise installations and repairs in residential environments.
- Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to ensure accurate system setup and maintenance.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks and equipment repairs to uphold system integrity and performance.
- Diagnose issues using tools such as ohmmeters and network testers; resolve hardware or connectivity problems efficiently.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions that maximize system functionality.
- Maintain detailed documentation of installations, service visits, repairs, and system configurations for record-keeping and future reference.
Experience
- Proven experience in field service roles involving electronic or mechanical systems installation and repair.
- Service technician experience with a focus on home automation or low voltage systems is highly preferred.
- Strong familiarity with computer hardware components, networking principles, and computer troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals accurately.
- Mechanical knowledge related to equipment repair, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Hands-on experience using hand tools such as screwdrivers, wire strippers, crimpers, and multimeters like ohmmeters.
- Knowledge of low voltage wiring standards, safety protocols, and electrical codes applicable to residential settings.
