Role: Maintenance Lead Technician – Night Shift (Mon to Fri 11pm – 7:30am)
Overview:
The Maintenance Lead Technician will work under the Maintenance Supervisor and will be responsible for overseeing the work of a small maintenance team on the night shift (Monday–Friday). The role includes assigning tasks, setting priorities, ensuring safe and timely completion of duties, and supporting the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). This position involves leadership responsibility, problem-solving, and hands-on mechanical and technical work.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager to identify priorities.
Direct and oversee the work of maintenance personnel.
Assist with planning, scheduling, assigning, and reviewing work.
Supervise and direct service contractors.
Oversee down-day activities and plant lockdown procedures.
Provide guidance and instructions to mechanics in daily activities.
Ensure all work aligns with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and safety standards.
Provide break or vacation coverage for mechanics when needed.
Lead special projects assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and determine root causes.
Analyze and diagnose malfunctions using computer or PLC programs.
Collaborate with other mechanics to determine corrective actions.
Offer technical expertise in diagnosing problems.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on maintenance activities.
Document equipment repairs, breakdowns, work orders, and PMs.
Maintain maintenance office records and departmental documentation.
What You Bring:
Industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing, plant, or warehouse environment.
Skilled with mechanical tools such as welding, grinding, cutting, electrical circuit writing, and PLC calibrating.
Ability to understand temperature/weight measurements and perform basic math (whole numbers & fractions).
