About The Role
We’re looking for a driven, results-oriented Associate Sales Director to lead sales growth in the Conventional Channel across key national and regional grocery retailers. This role combines strategic account management with hands-on execution to expand distribution, optimize promotional plans, and deliver profitable growth. You’ll collaborate with marketing, operations, and finance teams. If you’re passionate about building relationships, driving results, and growing better-for-you brands, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
Account Leadership
- Own and grow relationships with key conventional retail accounts and distributor partners.
- Lead new item presentations, line reviews, and promotional planning to drive distribution and velocity.
- Execute customerspecific business plans aligned with brand objectives and retailer strategies.
- Partner with broker networks and internal teams to ensure retail execution and compliance.
- Serve as the main contact for buyers and category managers.
Strategic Planning
- Develop annual and longterm sales plans for assigned accounts to achieve revenue and profit goals.
- Manage promotional calendars and trade investment to maximize ROI.
- Analyze category and consumer data (SPINS, IRI, Nielsen) to identify opportunities and optimize assortment.
- Collaborate with marketing and supply chain on product launches and inventory flow.
- Monitor competitive activity and market trends.
Execution and Results
- Achieve or exceed annual sales, distribution, and velocity targets.
- Track and report sales performance with insights and recommendations.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and deduction reconciliations with finance.
- Ensure operational excellence through accurate forecasting and proactive communication.
- Represent the company at trade shows, customer meetings, and industry events.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of CPG sales experience (preferably betterforyou), including 2+ years managing conventional grocery accounts.
- Strong knowledge of the grocery retail landscape with proven account management success.
- Experience with syndicated data such as SPINS, IRI, or Nielsen and trade spend tools like Promomash or TPM.
- Experience managing broker and distributor relationships.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Highly organized, analytical, and collaborative.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
- Passion for wellness and building highgrowth brands.

Compensation
$130,000 to $150,000 annually, plus bonus eligibility, health, dental, vision, STD, LTD, EAP, 401(k), and more.
