We are seeking an experienced Audiovisual (AV) System Designer to work remotely develop a complete AV design package for a school auditorium upgrade. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience designing AV systems for auditoriums, theaters, multipurpose halls, or similar performance spaces, and can produce clean, professional engineering documentation.
This is a contract-based position with clearly defined milestones and the potential for future collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a full AV design package for a school auditorium
- Create professional engineering drawings (AutoCAD preferred), including:
- AV layout plans
- Loudspeaker distribution and placement
- Projector/display locations
- Equipment rack layout
- Signal-flow diagrams
- Wiring and connection diagrams
- Prepare a detailed Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Provide clear design notes for coordination
- Offer light support during construction (clarifications, adjustments)
Requirements
- Proven experience designing AV systems for auditoriums, theaters, or similar spaces
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent drafting software
- Strong understanding of:
- Distributed audio
- Microphones & I/O infrastructure
- DSP routing
- HDMI/HDBaseT extension
- Control systems (Crestron / Extron / QSC / Biamp)
- Ability to deliver clean, organized engineering documentation
- Must provide sample AV drawings from previous work
- Willingness to sign an NDA
Project Milestones (If Selected)
Milestone 1 – $50
Review project info and provide a detailed checklist of what you need collected during the site visit. Our field supervisor will gather all details for you.
Milestone 2 – $400
Prepare and submit the complete AV design package for the auditorium.
Milestone 3 – $250
Provide support during construction as needed (clarifications, updates, coordination).
