Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Bookkeeper to join our remote team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles, experience with QuickBooks Online, and the ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy under deadlines. This role requires more than just transaction entry—you’ll be expected to review, analyze, and maintain client accounts at a high standard.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage the chart of accounts for multiple clients
- Record and review journal entries for accuracy and compliance
- Categorize transactions and ensure consistency across accounts
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Generate accurate and timely financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Review accounts for errors, inconsistencies, or misclassifications and resolve issues proactively
- Collaborate with the owner and clients as needed to clarify items or request missing documentation
- Ensure client books align with GAAP and are ready for tax preparation or audit purposes
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of hands-on bookkeeping or accounting experience (multi-client experience preferred)
- Proven proficiency in QuickBooks Online (required)
- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting practices
- Experience preparing full-cycle financial statements
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills; bilingual in Spanish and English is highly preferred
- Tech-savvy with the ability to adapt to new tools and processes
Schedule & Location
- Remote position
- Part-time (approx. 10–20 hours per week with potential for growth)
- Flexible schedule, but availability required during regular business hours (9 AM – 5 PM EST)

Compensation
- $20 – $24 per hour, based on experience
