Our Property Services division plays a critical role in delivering exceptional maintenance outcomes for our clients and residents. We’re building a national home services platform that combines local expertise, operational excellence, and data-driven decision-making to improve service quality and reduce costs at scale.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Repairs & Maintenance Regional Team Leader is responsible for leading, developing, and growing a high-performing maintenance operations team across multiple markets. This leader will oversee technicians, coordinators, and vendor relationships, ensuring that every work order is executed efficiently, cost-effectively, and with an excellent client and resident experience.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in single-family rental (SFR) maintenance operations, a proven ability to hire and develop teams, and a track record of driving measurable improvement in performance, cost control, and service quality.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead and Develop a High-Performing Team
- Hire, train, and coach team members, creating a culture of accountability, performance, and professional growth.
- Conduct regular 1:1s and team meetings to align goals, share best practices, and remove obstacles.
- Drive Operational Excellence
- Oversee day-to-day repair and maintenance execution, ensuring work is completed quickly, accurately, and to Evernest quality standards.
- Identify and eliminate process bottlenecks to improve speed, communication, and consistency across markets.
- Partner closely with Dispatch, Vendor Management, and Operations leadership to improve workflow efficiency and client outcomes.
- Leverage In-House Technicians
- Expand and optimize Evernest’s in-house maintenance technician operations to increase capacity, utilization, and profitability.
- Drive technician performance, ensuring high-quality workmanship, strong communication, and accountability.
- Ensure Quality and Client Experience
- Maintain a “right-first-time” mindset—focusing on craftsmanship, communication, and transparency throughout the maintenance process.
- Monitor service outcomes, drive continuous improvement, and resolve escalations with urgency and professionalism.
- Manage Costs and Vendor Performance
- Monitor regional maintenance spend and margin performance, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Strengthen relationships with vendors and contractors to ensure consistent pricing, quality, and turnaround times.
- Support implementation of Evernest’s price book, service standards, and technology tools across your region.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- 5+ years of experience in property maintenance or construction operations, ideally within the SFR (single-family rental) industry
- Proven leadership experience hiring, training, and developing teams across multiple markets
- Demonstrated success reducing maintenance costs and improving service outcomes for clients
- Strong operational and systems thinking—able to design processes that scale efficiently
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both internal teams and external partners
- Comfort with data and technology; experience using maintenance management systems, dashboards, and reporting tools
- Root-Cause Problem Solving – Digs beyond surface issues to identify underlying process or training gaps
- Data-Informed Judgment – Uses information to make balanced, timely decisions (vs. chasing every metric)
- Prioritization Under Pressure – Can quickly determine what matters most when everything feels urgent
- Decision-Making Confidence – Balances speed with quality, and acts decisively with incomplete information
- Clear and Concise Communication – Explains complex issues simply to non-technical audiences (owners, residents, ops)
- Adaptability – Thrives amid change, new technology, or evolving organizational priorities
- Ownership Mentality – Treats the business as if it’s their own—takes full responsibility for outcomes
CORE VALUES
To be considered for this position, you must connect deeply with Evernest’s company core values:
