- Maintenance: Performing preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment, such as checking for potential issues before they arise. They also arrange for routine maintenance in hotel rooms, lobbies, and facilities.
- Emergency response: Responding quickly to emergency issues, such as power outages.
- Budgeting: Managing maintenance budgets and expenses, and finding ways to reduce operating costs.
- Communication: Interacting with guests and staff, and mitigating guest complaints.
- Grounds maintenance: Caring for indoor gardens and plants, and performing other tasks to create a functional outdoor environment.
- Renovations: Planning and overseeing renovations and construction.
- Team management: Supervising maintenance technicians and janitors, and managing relationships with contractors and service providers
