Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic specializing in heavy trucks to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of heavy-duty trucks, ensuring all equipment operates efficiently and safely.
What you’ll do
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in heavy equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
- Perform routine maintenance on various machinery, including diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
- Utilize schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems and conduct automotive diagnostics.
- Execute fabrication tasks and welding as needed to support equipment repairs.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment safely and effectively.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating repair needs clearly to clients.
- Conduct inspections on air brake systems, suspension components, and tire services.
- Collaborate with team members to complete assembly tasks and ensure timely project completion.
KEY OBILIGATION:
Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy trucks, including engines, transmissions, braking systems, hydraulics, and suspensions.
Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend vehicle life.
Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot issues in electronic and mechanical systems.
Repair and replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts used, and labor hours.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and company maintenance procedures.
Collaborate with operations staff to schedule maintenance without disrupting fleet operations.
Respond to emergency repair requests, including field service calls.
Basic qualifications
- Proven experience as a mechanic with a strong background in heavy equipment operation.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for maintenance and repair tasks.
- Solid understanding of hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and automotive repair principles.
Preferred qualifications
Requirements:
High school diploma or technical degree in automotive or diesel technology.
+5 years of experience working on heavy trucks (e.g., Volvo, Scania, Mercedes, MAN, or similar).
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and repair software.
Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions.

Pay: $5,000.00 - $7,000.00 per month
