Powerwell is a leading recruitment firm helping our clients discover top talent. We are recruiting for a Traveling Lead Conveyor Installation Supervisor.
This position is 90% travel, all U.S. based depending on projects. Our client will cover all travel accommodations for the selected candidate. Candidates must have a minimum of five years of supervisory experience running complex conveyor installation crews of five to 20 mechanics and agency labor staff. Candidates with experience in Intelligrated Conveyor Systems or Hytrol Conveyor Systems are highly desired.
Job Description:
Direct and supervise a crew to install conveyors, sorters, support structures, sub-assemblies, and air systems.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to oversee complex material handling system installations meeting deadlines and budget goals.
- Understand and layout complex conveyor systems from installation drawings.
- Lead crews and Installation Supervisors to install MDR, Accumulation, belt on roller, sorters, merge tables.
- Unload and inventory equipment deliveries.
- Represent Company in construction meetings on site and communicate with customers on daily basis.
- Establish and maintain professional and responsive relationships with customers.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all trades on site as well as other client departments.
- Proactively recommend staffing needs according to job requirements.
- Proactively assess and prioritize work.
- Submit timesheets and expense reports weekly for crew on site.
- Foresee risks and issues and escalate to Project Manager.
- Train new employees/contractors in safety procedures, company and site policies.
- Ability to negotiate with general contractors, trades and vendors.
- Adhere to and enforce our client’s site safety standards.
- Become proficient enough in Fieldwire software to train others in its use.
- Use Fieldwire software to submit progress update reports, issues reports & site safety reports.
- May be assigned to special projects or required to perform other duties not listed above, which may vary from time to time as determined by management, to meet company needs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum five years of supervisory experience running complex conveyor installation crews of five to 20 mechanics and agency labor staff.
- Ability to read and understand equipment Bill of Materials (BOMs).
- Frequent overnight stays for long periods of time.
- Solid written and oral communication skills.
- Shoe sorter installation experience required.
- Pop up sorter installation experience required.
- Header steel installation experience required.
- Incline/decline installation experience required.
- AccuGlide installation experience required.
- MDR conveyor installation experience required.
- Ability to use MS Excel, MS Word, Windows laptop, Outlook.
- Welding experience required.
- Ability to operate lift equipment required.
- GOH and rail experience a plus.
- Ability of learn Fieldwire.
- Ability to work in an active construction project and within an operating facility with the requirement to practice, train others, and upholder safety standards and requirements of industry, OSHA, our client, and customer.
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical. Ability to complete OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 safety programs.
- Ability to receive certifications in proper use of forklifts, manlifts and other equipment as needed to complete job responsibilities.
- Languages: English required. Bilingual Spanish preferred.
