Role Description
Our small family office is seeking a highly organized Personal Bookkeeper to manage the Principal’s personal finances and select entities. This part-time, remote role (~10-20 hours/week) offers exposure to personal, business, and investment fund activities, with the opportunity to build and refine bookkeeping processes and workflows. U.S. citizens only; must be able to travel domestically (including Puerto Rico) for occasional in-person meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead bookkeeping for the Principal’s personal accounts, select companies, and investment entities
- Reconcile accounts and track contributions, distributions, and expense allocations
- Manage personal, household, and investment transactions, including bills, cash flow, and budgeting
- Prepare monthly and ad hoc financial summaries, projections, and financial statements
- Support special projects, process improvements, and AI-driven workflow initiatives
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required, with the ability to travel domestically (including Puerto Rico) for occasional in-person meetings
- 5+ years of accounting and bookkeeping experience, including personal finances and small business entities
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and bookkeeping best practices
- Advanced skills with QuickBooks, Excel, and other accounting software; familiarity with AI-enabled financial tools is highly valued
- Meticulous, organized, and able to handle confidential information with discretion
- Self-motivated and proactive, capable of thriving in a dynamic, multi-entity environment
Additional Information
- This role reports directly to the Principal and will collaborate with other family office and fund personnel as needed
Please note: Applicants with less than 5 years of bookkeeping experience will not be considered
Compensation: $50-$100/hour
