Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Regional Sales Manager - Northeast USA to lead regional growth for CLEW Nicotine Pouches. This role will oversee the full sales function across the Northeast, including field sales leadership, wholesaler management, and retail execution. The Director will play a critical leadership role in driving revenue growth, building organizational capability, and strengthening long-term partnerships across the distributor and retail landscape.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in regulated industries (alcohol, cannabis, tobacco, etc.), a proven track record of managing multi-layered sales teams, and - as a bonus - a strong existing book of business. They will bring a data-driven approach, strong cross-functional communication skills, and the ability to build sales teams that are aligned with our brand values and consistently focused on retailer and consumer needs.
Territory Coverage:
Maryland, District of Columbia, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Maine.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing field sales team across 12+ states, ensuring consistent execution of KPIs, distribution targets, and brand standards.
- Wholesaler & Distributor Management: Build and maintain strategic relationships with wholesalers and distributors; negotiate programs, influence sell-in, and ensure sell-through.
- Commercial Planning: Translate national sales strategies into actionable regional execution plans, including forecasting, promotional planning, and resource allocation.
- Retail Execution Excellence: Ensure flawless deployment of POSM, merchandising, planogram compliance, and in-store promotional activities to maximize brand visibility.
- Analytics & Insights: Use sales data, market trends, and competitive intelligence to identify opportunities, adjust tactics, and deliver measurable ROI.
- Compliance & Responsibility: Ensure all commercial activities meet regulatory requirements for nicotine products and adhere to company policies and ethical standards.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner closely with Marketing, Operations, and Finance to ensure alignment on programs, budgets, and market activation.
- In-Market Presence: Travel extensively with sales reps to drive accountability, strengthen retailer relationships, and maintain a firsthand understanding of market dynamics.
Qualifications
- 7–10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience in regulated CPG industries (nicotine/tobacco, alcohol, cannabis, or pharma).
- Demonstrated success managing multi-state field sales teams and driving results through wholesalers/distributors.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in P&L management, pricing strategy, and trade marketing.
- Proven ability to deliver sales growth, expand distribution, and improve in-store execution in competitive markets.
- Advanced analytical skills with experience leveraging syndicated data and field performance dashboards.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills at all levels.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks governing nicotine/tobacco or other highly regulated products in the territory states.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the Northeast region.
