We’re looking for a Sales Director, National Accounts Beverage Retail, to join our team. The Sales Director, National Accounts Beverage Retail, is responsible for identifying sales growth opportunities, with key national and regional chain accounts. This role will contribute to volume, profit, and share growth by driving distribution and availability for VOSS Water.
About the Role
The successful candidate must possess the ability to develop and flawlessly execute plans and must have already established relationships with customers in large format retail chains, national and alternative channels at the HQ level. There is no relocation for this role.
Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Business Development:
- Develop and implement multi-year strategic business plans for key national retail accounts to achieve company revenue and market share goals.
- Conduct deep data analysis using analytical data and internal sales data to identify market opportunities, track performance, and develop fact-based sales presentations.
- Forecast monthly, quarterly, and annual sales, volume, and profit targets for assigned accounts and manage the associated budgets.
Account Management and Relationship Building:
- Cultivate and maintain strong, high-level relationships with key buyers and executives at national retail headquarters.
- Lead joint business planning sessions with retail partners to align category growth initiatives, promotional activities, and merchandising strategies.
- Function as the primary point of contact and escalation for high-profile client issues, resolving challenges professionally and urgently.
Sales and Promotional Execution:
- Negotiate and secure new product placements, promotions, and expanded distribution in line with brand priorities.
- Ensure excellence in retail execution by working with distributors and internal teams to maximize visibility, shelf placement, and promotional effectiveness.
- Collaborate with marketing, supply chain, and product development teams to align internal resources with account needs.
Qualifications
- 8-10 years of progressive sales experience in the non-alcoholic beverage consumer packaged goods industry, premium water experience preferred.
- Proven experience managing high-profile, multi-million-dollar national retail accounts.
- Strong history managing distributor relationships.
- Must have current and existing beverage national accounts/key accounts customer experience and experience building a joint business plan.
- Ability to manage and analyze sales data and trade/business analytics.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and syndicated data.
