The Role: FP&A Lead
As the FP&A Lead at Ascenda, you will play a pivotal role in driving the financial insights that support our commercial activities and data-driven decision-making across the company. This role will be part of the finance organization and sit on the commercial organization leadership team, serving as a liaison between these two groups to support Ascenda's strategic initiatives.
The FP&A Lead will provide critical financial analysis and guidance to fuel Ascenda’s growth. You will be responsible for building forecasting models, driving insights from financial analysis (e.g. actual vs forecast analysis), supporting ROI analysis for new and existing initiatives, and ensuring senior management and the commercial team have the data they need to execute on key business opportunities. Your work will directly influence the strategic decision-making processes that drive our revenue growth and help scale Ascenda’s business.
Your Impact
- Develop and enhance financial forecasting models at the company level, as well as by client, partner, initiative and market to predict revenue, volume, and key metrics for both current and new opportunities.
- Monitor and analyze key financial KPIs and metrics, including benchmarking, actual vs forecast, and variance analysis, to provide actionable insights.
- Partner with commercial teams to model business cases for new deals and initiatives with existing clients, such as ROI modeling for marketing campaigns, new features, and content partners/categories.
- Provide data-driven analysis to support strategic and commercial initiatives, guiding decisions on new business opportunities and optimizing existing partnerships.
- Conduct ad-hoc financial analyses and generate custom reports to support both commercial and leadership teams.
- Develop a comprehensive, real-time financial reporting framework and continuously improve and professionalize reporting processes, tools, and outputs to ensure accuracy and clarity.
Who You Are
- Over 8 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, ideally with experience in commercial finance or FP&A in a high-growth technology or SaaS company.
- You bring both a strategic mindset and the ability to execute, with a deep understanding of how financial insights directly drive commercial success.
- You excel at building financial models, analyzing complex data, and turning numbers into actionable insights that align with the company’s business goals.
- You’re comfortable working closely with cross-functional teams, especially the commercial leadership team, and can translate financial data into language that resonates with business stakeholders.
- You have a keen eye for detail, ensuring that all of your financial reports, forecasts, and models are both accurate and clear.
- You have experience leading teams, coaching others, and delivering results under pressure, all while fostering a collaborative and team-oriented approach.
