Job Summary
FilterEasy is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant who can provide support to the accounting team in the areas of accounting, audit and taxation. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting, reconciliations, general ledger accounting, month end close and sales tax compliance. The candidate should also have strong interpersonal and communication skills. The candidate will report to the Head of Accounting and is expected to collaborate with other team members and external partners.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Handle the accounts receivable process, which includes documentation, system reconciliations, communication with customers, undeposited funds reconciliation and sales tax compliance.
- Identify areas of improvement in accounts receivable processes and reporting.
- Process and verify timely invoicing to partner customers and follow up with payment collections.
- Process and/or confirm commercial invoices are recorded correctly in NetSuite.
- Process payments against open A/R invoices.
- Participate in payment collections, which may include customer communications and collaboration with the sales team.
- Assist in monitoring and updating inventory costing standards.
- Assist in analyzing inventory and COGS accounts.
- Assist in payroll accounting and reconciliations.
- Reconciliation of assigned general ledger accounts.
- Process month end journal entries, which includes reclass journal entries.
- Reconciliation of sales tax to ensure accurate reporting and filing.
- Assist in variance analysis and margin analysis reporting.
- Handle ad hoc assignments as they arise.
- Handle and/or assist in audit requests.
- Assist in handling tax notices.
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting and month end close processes.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and analyze general ledger accounts and their impact on reporting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Working knowledge of sales tax reporting and compliance.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- 5+ years of related experience required.
- Netsuite experience required.
- CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred.
- E-commerce experience preferred.
