Job Overview
We are in search of a meticulous and dedicated Accounting Staff member to support the financial operations of our esteemed nonprofit organization in a fully remote capacity. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with the Director of Finance & HR, playing an instrumental part in ensuring that our accounting processes run efficiently while also contributing to HR functions. Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable, including vendor maintenance and payment processing.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of scholarship payments to educational institutions, addressing any discrepancies as needed.
- Handle the invoicing process and manage collections to uphold the organization's financial health.
- Input incoming payments accurately into the accounting system (Intacct).
- Generate donor tax acknowledgment letters while ensuring adherence to tax compliance regulations.
- Conduct reconciliation of bank and credit card statements for accurate financial reporting.
- Process staff expense reports and manage reimbursements efficiently.
- Oversee the management and distribution of in-kind donations and inventory.
- Provide general support as directed by the Director of Finance & HR or CEO.
Required Skills
- Proficient in accounting software, particularly Intacct.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for professional interactions.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (G-Suite).
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in all financial tasks.
- Strong bookkeeping and financial management capabilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and professionally.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the capability to work independently in a remote setting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience in accounting is essential.
- Nonprofit accounting experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
