A fast-growing startup created by successful beverage entrepreneurs is looking for a full cycle bookkeeper to support our brand’s growth across multiple states.
Founded in the Fall of 2020, The Beverage Ranch was created to develop, produce and sell the next generation of ready-to-drink alcoholic beverages. Our new concept is focused on the high-alcohol single-serve opportunity primarily found in convenience and grocery market.
The Bookkeeper will manage and maintain the full accounting cycle, ensuring accurate and timely financial processes. As part of our team, you will play an essential role in managing our day-to-day financial transactions, from accounts payable and receivable to month-end close, all while supporting our growth and operational efficiency.

Role & Responsibilities:
- This person reports to a co-founder
- Current Systems Utilized: QuickBooks Online (QBO), Melio, Expensify, Gusto Payroll, Microsoft Office
- Monitor and manage the shared accounting email inbox
- Accounts Payable – Receive invoices via email or vendor portals and organize them in internal file system; obtain invoice approval from internal stakeholders; perform invoice and general-ledger data entry within company accounting software; match or categorize transactions in the QBO bank feed, on-board and effectively communicate with vendors
- Accounts Receivable - Work with the Operations Manager to generate and send invoices to customers; record customer payments; follow up on past-due payments, overpayments, or underpayments; on-board and effectively communicate with customers
- Cash Flow Management -Update and maintain the QBO cash flow planner on a weekly basis in collaboration with the Operations Manager
- Bill Payments - Process bill payments via current company software ensuring alignment with the cash flow forecast
- Payroll Administration – Prepare and release employee payroll through current company software
- Month-End Close - Complete timely and accurate month-end close tasks (AP & AR, schedule updates, journal entries, credit card & bank reconciliations, inventory adjustments), finalize and report internal P&L and Balance Sheets vs. Budget
- Employee Expense Management - Review and approve employee expense reports via current company software, ensuring accurate syncing with QBO, making any necessary corrections
Ideal Candidate Characteristics:
- College Degree (BS in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred)
- Five (5) years of increasing responsibility in bookkeeping roles, ideally in the alcoholic beverage industry
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of company and partner information
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional approach to working with vendors, customers and team members
- Ability to troubleshoot accounting issues independently and find practical solutions
- Self-starter who can work independently and take direction well in a flexible start-up environment, where processes may not yet be defined
- High Proficiency in accounting software and online platforms – QuickBooks Online (QBO), Microsoft 365, Melio, Expensify, Gusto and others as needed
- Ability to effectively work remotely
- Previous experience in the beverage, retail, or related industries is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as necessary
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs regularly
