Financial Administrative Specialist

Location: Remote

Status: Exempt / Full-Time

Salary Range: $87K - $107K depending on qualifications

Scope:

The scope of this effort includes services to execute financial/administrative management services including, but not limited to, the following:

Expert level contractor support to execute NRLFO Finance specific accounting and financial reporting operations as determined by the Contracting Officer (CO) in cooperation with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Execute staff training (one-on-one or group) on NRLFO Finance specific accounting and financial
Document NRLFO Finance accounting and financial reporting processes in Standard Operating Procedures and review/update existing procedures as necessary, by assigned due date(s).

This position may include travel to NRLFO locations, and to DOE and NR sites/facilities when necessary for training and to perform assignments and tasks associated with responsibilities.

Specific Requirements:

Expert knowledge of existing NRLFO Finance accounting and financial reporting operations.
Expert knowledge in Microsoft Office applications.
Expert knowledge in DOE business systems (STARS, STRIPES, FAST) and provide mission critical support to ensure appropriate management and execution of the finance division

Job Duties:

Prepare correspondence, reports, and other financial documents.
Use discretion in handling confidential information and follow all federal, state, and local laws and company policies for document control.
Assist with the processes of A/P, A/R and payroll when needed and directed by the CFO.
Assist other Staff Accountants with company financial projects daily.
Process reports and retain information according to guidance in GAAP, FAR, CFR, IRS, DOL and all other state and federal agencies as applicable.
Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
Conduct research and detailed analyses as necessary.
Learn and follow all position SOPs with accuracy and efficiency.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s):

Acquired and demonstrated use of logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
Strong understanding of accounting procedures, principles, and GAAP.
Strong ability to develop, read, understand, and forecast budgets.
Problem-solving skills with a strong ability to accurately complete complex tasks efficiently and thoroughly.
Strong time management and organizational skills including prioritization of tasks under strict deadlines, and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, 10-key, and common accounting software.
Strong customer service, interpersonal, verbal, written, research and resolution and data analysis skills.
Professional certification/membership may be required within the first year of moving into this classification.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field and 10 or more years of relevant experience.

Security Clearance:

The ability to obtain and maintain a DOE/DoD Security Clearance - Secret, Top Secret, L or Q is required.

Background Check and Screenings
