Overview
We are seeking a motivated Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Apprentice to join our team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in HVAC systems, refrigeration, plumbing, and mechanical maintenance. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, possess a strong work ethic, and have a foundational interest in building systems and property maintenance. Prior experience in construction, service technician roles, or appliance repair is a plus. A valid driver’s license is required for travel to job sites. This paid apprenticeship provides valuable industry exposure and skill development under the guidance of experienced technicians.

Duties

Assist with installation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, and refrigeration equipment
Read and interpret schematics and technical diagrams for system troubleshooting and assembly
Support service technicians with system diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and other electrical testing devices
Perform routine inspections of HVAC equipment to identify issues related to mechanical failure or inefficiency
Aid in plumbing tasks associated with HVAC systems, including pipe fitting and refrigerant line connections
Participate in equipment repair activities such as welding or component replacement
Contribute to property maintenance tasks related to HVAC and mechanical systems
Follow safety protocols during field service operations involving ammonia refrigeration or other hazardous materials
Assist with the use of HVAC design principles for system upgrades or new installations
Support team members in maintaining a clean and organized work environment

Skills

Basic understanding of construction principles and mechanical systems
Experience or familiarity with service technician roles, appliance repair, or property maintenance is advantageous
Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams related to HVAC/R systems
Knowledge of HVAC design concepts and refrigeration processes including ammonia refrigeration systems
Mechanical knowledge related to equipment repair, welding, boiler operation, and general maintenance
Field service experience preferred; ability to work independently or as part of a team on-site
Proficiency with electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues
Valid driver’s license required for travel between job sites
