Position Summary
Our Southern California-based client is seeking a Financial Analyst with CPG or similar industry experience to join their growing team. This role will collaborate with various departments such as Marketing, Sales, Category Management, Operations, and Innovation. You will play a pivotal part in forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning. The position will also assist with marketing investment decisions through detailed financial analysis and ensure the alignment of performance measurement with financial targets.
Salary Range: $90k to $100k base (potential for more) + bonus opportunities + competitive benefits package

Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with marketing and administrative leadership to develop and manage the annual, monthly, and quarterly budgets, including forecasts and expense planning.
- Implement processes and systems that simplify budget management, ensuring alignment with company-wide operating systems.
- Create monthly rolling forecasts by segment and brand, in partnership with sales finance, to update the company on expected performance.
- Oversee Selling, General, and Administrative Expenses (SG&A), including the Marketing Working Budget (MWB) and Corporate Overheads.
- Analyze variances between budget and forecast, identify causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Work with marketing leadership to define and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess the financial and operational performance of brands and segments.
- Prepare accurate, timely financial reports and dashboards for senior management, providing key insights and actionable recommendations.
- Analyze product profitability, channel performance, and customer segments, offering recommendations to improve margins.
- Contribute to long-term financial models and strategic plans that align with the company’s goals and market trends.
- Conduct financial modeling to assess various business scenarios and their financial impact.
- Lead the development of short- and long-term financial plans, budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc analyses for managing both strategic and operational business needs.
- Coordinate with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely monthly financial close.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with the company’s financial targets and improve financial and operational performance.
- Propose new strategies and processes to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
- Lead key strategic initiatives across the organization to ensure consistency, efficiency, and target achievement.
- Identify financial risks and propose strategies to mitigate potential risks, safeguarding the company’s financial health.
- Drive process improvements by optimizing financial planning and reporting systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure both financial and non-financial managers receive accurate and insightful data to support business decisions.
- Champion the development of financial best practices, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, internal controls, and company policies.
- Perform other duties as necessary to support business requirements and contribute to organizational growth and success.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or Business required; master’s degree preferred.
- 3-5 years in financial planning and analysis, with significant experience in marketing or commercial finance. Experience in the CPG industry is highly desired.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong knowledge of Business Intelligence and Reporting systems.
- Advanced understanding of Finance, Accounting, and marketing financial drivers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
- Ability to synthesize complex data and develop actionable reports and insights.
- Strong presentation skills, capable of engaging with senior executives and stakeholders.
- High-level strategic thinking with a focus on results and solutions within an entrepreneurial environment.
- Agile and adaptable to shifting priorities and business needs.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate effectively.
