What We Are Looking For
Coffee ’n Clothes is looking for an Accountant to join our team. The accountant will be responsible for daily accounting tasks that include AR and AP, maintaining the company’s ledger and driving monthly close. The right candidate will need to communicate with internal and external stakeholders to keep transactions moving, optimize processes and ensure visibility around the company’s finances. You should have a fundamental understanding of GAAP and a strong working knowledge of QuickBooks, and you should also be capable of managing up, prioritizing effectively and working with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
Manage AR
- Work with CNC Team to accurately invoice clients as work is wonSend invoices to clients in keeping with payment terms, process invoices through client’s supplier portal (create profiles, upload documents, track progress, troubleshoot issues) where relevant
- Follow up with clients when payments are past due and communicate with CNC team as needed re: client payment issues
Manage AP
- Process bills in Tipalti (Bill Pay System), including establishing new vendors and ensuring sufficient funding
- Follow up with CNC Team and vendors to keep them aware of issues with payment
- Ensure AP transactions are properly coded in QuickBooks
Accounting & Monthly Close
- Recognize revenue based on project completion; accrue outstanding COGS expenses to ensure accurate margin reporting
- Book necessary accruals and other entries
- Reconcile trial balances; produce preliminary reports for review by CFO
Reporting & Analysis
- Produce reports on COGS spending and project margins for CNC Team
- Produce financial statements and ad hoc analysis for CNC Leadership
Requirements
- 2 to 5 years of accounting experienceAdvanced knowledge of QuickBooks or NetSuite
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets.
- Attention to detail is a must.
