Position Overview:
The Accounting Assistant position supports the accounting operations of the FSA family of companies under the supervision of the Controller. The Accounting Assistant will work closely with the administrative team as a whole to stay current on company affairs and aid in improving administrative support through accounting and finance operations. As a key member of several FSA companies, this position requires an exceptional ability to multi-task, problem solve, and work effectively in a team environment.
The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Daily Accounting Support: This includes receiving customer payments, assisting team members throughout the company with accounting questions, Excel spreadsheet troubleshooting, and expense management.
· Weekly Accounting Support: Ensure managers have approved team transactions and completed all requirements. Process mileage and reimbursements to team members.
· Monthly Accounting Support: Code company credit card transactions, gather expense reports and receipts from employees, and sync transactions to Quickbooks. Ensure expense information is correct and included in the correct budgets and GL accounts. Reconcile credit card statements. Assist Controller with preparing monthly client invoices. Review accounts receivable aging and work with Relationship Managers to keep client accounts current.
· Annual Accounting Support: Collect W-9s from Vendors and gather all information needed to send annual 1099s. Assist Controller with tagging and maintaining fixed assets. Work with team members to discuss department wishlist items for annual budget.
· Office support: Working knowledge of small to medium sized business operations is crucial. FSA is a team of highly collaborative business professionals that often utilize their general business skillset outside of their traditional day-to-day role in order to work together to foster new ideas and ensure operational stability. A well-rounded individual who has had experience in coursework or experience in other business topics such as marketing, events, or management will do exceptionally well in this role.
Supervision Received:
Supervision is provided by the Controller under the direction of Firm Administrator; position requires ability to perform with moderate supervision.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills:
· 1-3 years of relevant experience, with coursework in Accounting and Finance topics considered as experience
- Completed Bachelors degree in Accounting or currently pursuing accounting or finance degree as a Senior, Junior, or Graduate student
- Prior experience with Quickbooks Online a bonus
· Must be able to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality
· Maintain professional attitude and appearance at all times
· Ability to research and resolve issues independently with moderate supervision
· Able to multi-task, possess a high level of attention to detail and maintain a high level of organization and time management skills
· Strong ability to communicate with and provide exceptional service to remote team members
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Office and programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams)
· Excellent customer service skills and positive attitude
· Ability to contribute to an efficient work environment
· Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
· Prior experience in a Corporate Accounting role or internship is a plus but not required

Pay: $38,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
