About Us
A Company Driven by Humanist Values
Secular Strategies was founded in November 2019 by Sarah Levin, whose entry to the US movement for secular democracy started at her Secular Student Alliance chapter at American University. She interned at the Secular Coalition for America in 2013, and the rest was history. She went on to serve as its chief lobbyist and director of grassroots programs six years later. At the Secular Coalition, she had the great privilege to collaborate with and learn from the secular movement’s leadership and foremost experts in nonreligious constituencies and church-state separation issues.
As a company driven by humanist values, we work to advance a vision of pluralistic democracy that celebrates the inherent worth, dignity, and freedom of conscience of every human being. We believe that religious freedom for people of all faiths and no faith can and must be balanced with civil rights. We work with our clients to protect the constitutional separation of church and state, and ensure that the rapidly growing number of nonreligious Americans have a voice.
The Opportunity
We currently serve five clients, including nonprofits and PACs. We specialize in the nonreligious voter demographic and advocacy issues relating to the First Amendment. We offer talented people opportunities to do fulfilling, values-driven work with opportunities to grow professionally and enjoy a remote and flexible work schedule.
This is an ideal position for someone who is already freelancing or seeking part-time work. The position is remote; however, it is a plus for the candidate to be based in Los Angeles. The pay is $40-$45 depending on the candidate's experience, and the expected time commitment is 15 hours per week.
