About the role
We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team! This position will start part-time during training and transition to full-time as you become comfortable with our workflow and the type of work we do.
You’ll work with a variety of nonprofits and small businesses. Because our clients vary widely in size and structure, this role requires someone who is adaptable, organized, and comfortable managing different types of work. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential, along with a willingness to ask questions and seek clarification. We place a high value on accuracy, so it’s important that you’re comfortable pausing to gather complete information rather than making assumptions.
We are a fully remote team, with occasional opportunities for in-person collaboration.
Responsibilities
Day-to-day work will vary by client, but typically includes:
- Managing bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online, including data entry and journal entries
- Performing bank and account reconciliations
- Handling accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Assisting with payroll processing and related filings
- Preparing and reviewing financial reports
- Supporting grant reporting for nonprofit clients
- Identifying discrepancies and following up to ensure accuracy

- Accurate and timely bookkeeping across multiple clients
- Proactive communication and clarification when needed
- No assumptions; work is verified before being finalized
- Strong follow-through and reliable execution
- Comfort managing different client needs and workflows
Qualifications/Skills
- Bookkeeping experience and a solid understanding of accounting fundamentals (familiarity with nonprofit bookkeeping is a plus)
- Familiarity with QuickBooks Online
- Comfortability with Google Drive and Excel
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple clients
- Clear and consistent communication, especially via email
- Willingness to ask questions and follow through on details
- Ability to respond to emails within 24 hours and work in Arizona's time zone

Compensation
$24-$27 per hour, depending on experience
