Job Title: IT Vendor & Operations Manager Location: Remote
Duration: Long term Role Overview We are seeking an experienced IT Vendor & Operations Manager to oversee vendor relationships, IT financial planning, and operational governance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing IT vendors, contracts, service performance, budgeting processes, and operational reporting. This role requires strong collaboration with Finance, Legal, Procurement, and Technology teams to ensure vendor accountability, cost efficiency, and alignment with business strategy.
The candidate should have strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, along with the ability to drive operational improvements and support enterprise technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Vendor Management - Manage IT vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure service quality, performance, and accountability.
- Conduct regular vendor performance reviews and risk assessments to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to reduce vendor sprawl and minimize reliance on external consultants through strategic sourcing and standardization.
- Monitor vendor service delivery, cost efficiency, and operational effectiveness while identifying areas for improvement.
- Identify and mitigate operational and vendor-related risks, escalating issues when required.
Budgeting & Financial Planning - Support the annual IT budgeting and forecasting process in partnership with Finance teams.
- Track IT operational expenses, analyze budget variances, and ensure alignment with business priorities.
- Prepare financial and operational reports for IT leadership to support strategic decision-making.
- Develop business cases for new IT initiatives, services, and investments.
- Maintain operational dashboards and metrics related to vendor performance, service delivery, and budget performance.
Operational Governance & Reporting - Develop and maintain IT operational metrics and dashboards to track service performance and contractual compliance.
- Support IT staffing plans, onboarding processes, and professional development initiatives.
- Provide regular business updates and executive summaries to leadership teams and stakeholders.
- Ensure documentation of processes, vendor activities, and operational performance metrics.
Required Skills & Qualifications Core Skills - Strong understanding of IT vendor management and contract structures.
- Experience managing IT budgets, financial planning, and cost optimization.
- Ability to evaluate vendors for cybersecurity and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools within a business intelligence ecosystem.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to translate operational and financial data into actionable insights for leadership.
Business & Domain Knowledge - Strong business acumen with the ability to collaborate with Finance, Legal, Procurement, and Technology teams.
- Understanding of financial services products, distribution channels, and competitive market dynamics.
- Ability to interpret external market trends and translate them into internal operational strategy.
Soft Skills - Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Highly organized and comfortable working in regulated environments.
Experience Requirements - 7 years of experience in IT operations, technology operations, or enterprise operations management.
- Experience managing IT vendors, contracts, and third-party service providers.
- 2 years of experience presenting business updates and executive summaries to senior leadership.
- 2 years of experience supporting large-scale enterprise technology initiatives.
- Experience in IT financial management, budgeting, and cost control.
Education - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
- MBA or relevant certifications in IT governance, vendor management, or project management are a plus.
