I. REPORTS TO:
Catherine Prather, President, National Tour Association
II. CLASSIFICATION:
Exempt
III. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Responsible for development of NTA brand platform and integration of NTA’s brand story—both written and visually, in person and virtually—throughout all NTA programs, services, platforms, and events.
2. Responsible for strategic content development across all NTA platforms and vehicles including but not limited to email, printed communication and marketing, NTA Online, NTACourier.com, and social media.
3. Supervise the day-to-day responsibilities, growth, and development of the manager, communication and marketing.
4. In-person participation at NTA events, including but not limited to Contact, Travel Exchange and NTA Board meetings.
5. Prepare speeches, presentations, speaking points, letters, and articles for NTA staff, board, and leadership.
6. Write remarks and oversee production needs for Contact and Travel Exchange.
7. Draft NTA surveys and evaluations and create executive summaries to assist NTA team in using results to inform decisions and program development.
8. Responsible for NTA public relations and public affairs efforts, including developing and maintaining relations with media, drafting news releases, storytelling of the NTA brand to elevate the association, its members, and its leaders.
9. Draft event crisis management plans (Contact and Travel Exchange).
10. Responsible for monthly financial duties, including expense coding and bill approval, American Express credit card reporting, and budget monitoring.
11. Draft annual communication & marketing budget and assist with other budgets as required.
12. Primary back-up to manager, communication and marketing, for daily communications, Tuesday development, social media, and updates to NTA websites.
13. Additional duties as assigned.
IV. Additional Functions:
1. Keen understanding of NTA’s mission and core values.
2. Stay abreast of emerging trends and technology related to branding, communication and marketing, e.g., social media, AI, websites.
3. Represent NTA at events and/or speaking presentations, when necessary.
4. Serves as recording secretary for NTA Board meeting minutes.
5. Secondary back-up for manager, events, on event evaluations.
6. Assist with annual all-team renewal efforts and outreach and share leads for prospective members.
V. POSITION REQUIREMENTS and PREFERENCES:
1. Degree in communication, marketing, public relations, or related field.
2. No less than five years’ experience in a similar role with proven track record.
3. Leadership skills that effectively inspire creativity and innovation.
4. Strong critical/analytical skills and attention to detail.
5. Ability to be a self-starter and work remotely.
6. Ability to travel by air and other modes of transportation.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office, WordPress, and social media platforms.
