Director of FP&A – PE‑Backed Manufacturing Organization- Remote
A recently formed, private‑equity‑backed manufacturing organization is seeking a Director of FP&A to partner closely with the CFO and executive leadership team as the business scales. This is a highly visible role responsible for company‑wide FP&A, with a particular focus on building and leveraging financial models to support investment decisions, pricing, and other key analytical levers as the organization grows.
The company is backed by a notable PE sponsor and led by an experienced management team. This role represents an excellent opportunity for a candidate transitioning from investment banking or private equity into a portfolio company to gain hands‑on operating experience and meaningful influence on business decisions.
This position is remote, with a focus on candidates located in the CST or EST time zones.
Key Responsibilities:
Enterprise FP&A Leadership
Lead company‑wide budgeting, forecasting, long‑range planning, and management reporting. Partner with the CFO and leadership team to provide clear visibility into performance, risks, and opportunities.
Investment, Pricing & Strategic Modeling
Build and maintain robust financial models to support investments, pricing decisions, capital allocation, and other strategic initiatives. Serve as the primary modeling resource for the executive team as the business scales.
Analytical Decision Support
Provide ad hoc and strategic analysis to support growth initiatives, operational improvements, and value creation across the organization. Translate complex analyses into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
Board & Private Equity Reporting
Support preparation of board materials and reporting for the private equity sponsor, including performance analysis, KPI reporting, and financial narratives. Partner with the CFO to ensure timely, accurate, and decision‑ready information for board and sponsor discussions.
PE & Executive Partnering
Act as a trusted thought partner to the CFO, executive leadership team, and PE sponsor, supporting strategic planning, performance reviews, and value creation initiatives.
Function Build‑Out
Operate as a hands‑on, one‑person FP&A function initially, with the opportunity to build and scale the team over time as the organization grows.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3+ years of investment banking or private equity experience
- Strong hands‑on financial modeling expertise with the ability to build models from the ground up
- Manufacturing industry exposure strongly preferred
- Experience supporting investment analysis, pricing, or strategic decision‑making
- Comfortable operating independently in a lean, high‑impact environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with senior executives
- Interest in transitioning to an operating role within a PE‑backed portfolio company
Compensation & Benefits
Base compensation: $150,000 – $200,000
Annual bonus opportunity: approximately 20–30%
Equity participation, dependent on experience
