Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated Service Engineer with expertise in marine navigation and communication systems. The role involves installation, maintenance, commissioning, troubleshooting, and survey assistance for advanced shipborne equipment in compliance with IMO and Class regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain ,and repair marine navigation & communication systems onboard vessels.
- Monitor or organize the plan surveys / health check / maintenance of navigation integrated systems and provide support to vessels and shore teams including risk assessment for new situation or for planned intervention;
- Manage with vessel Superintendents / Vessel managers the repairs within time and budget by sourcing best solutions with key partners;
- Ensure compliance with IMO, SOLAS, ISM, and Class regulations during service.
- Prepare detailed service/inspection reports and maintain documentation.
- Liaise with OEMs, surveyors, and ship operators for seamless service delivery.
- Support, Assist and monitor vessel compliance with flag and class requirement related to navigation integrated systems;
- Installation, Maintenance and Servicing of :
- GMDSS Equipments (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System)
- Radar systems
- Gyrocompas
- Autopilot systems
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- GMDSS equipment (VHF, MF/HF, Inmarsat, EPIRB).
- Navigation equipment (Radar, Gyrocompass, Magnetic Compass, Autopilot, AIS,Speed log).
- Communication & safety systems (SART, SSAS)
Qualifications:
- Diploma/Degree in Marine Electronics, Communication Engineering.
- 2+ years of experience in marine navigation/communication equipment servicing.
- Certification/Training in GOC, GMDSS, Radar, or OEM systems preferred.
