Job Title: Field Video Technician
Reports to: Director of Fleet Operations
Classification: Part-time
Working days/hours: This position follows a Monday through Friday daytime schedule; however, daily start and end times may vary based on client needs. The role requires availability for up to two Saturdays per month and occasional midweek extended hours on a rotating basis (typically every other Wednesday or Thursday).
Based on historical workload, the average monthly hours for this position are approximately 28–30 hours per month, though actual hours may vary.
Work hours are scheduled in advance, with a monthly schedule provided approximately 1–2 weeks prior. Employees are expected to adhere to the assigned schedule.
This position requires the use of your own personal vehicle.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Drive, walk, or ride a Tourer X scooter while recording 360-degree video and following a pre-define route via turn-by-turn or point-to-point directions. Camera may be vehicle-mounted, or helmet-mounted based on needs of each job type.
- Provide safe operation of vehicles and comply with all vehicle regulations and traffic laws as well as company policies.
- Quickly mount and unmount omnidirectional cameras on the roof of a company vehicle.
- Ensure camera settings are correct before starting your video capture drives.
- Operate the omnidirectional camera using a mobile application on your phone or company-issued tablet.
- Extract and upload video footage to our software via an easy-to-use process. (May or may not be applicable based on driver status and the availability of remote video processing personal).
- Ensuring the car (company or personal) is operational daily.
- Complete all paperwork accurately and to specifications.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Maintain excellent appearance of vehicle.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Internet Connection Requirements:
A high-speed internet (preferably a fiber internet connection) is required for this position to ensure seamless performance. While a company laptop will be provided, a reliable and strong internet connection is essential.
- Minimum upload speed: 100 Mbps
- If fiber is not currently used at your location, we can assist with upgrades when possible; however, not all homes/apartments have access to fiber connectivity.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to use or willingness to learn how to use Apple laptops.
- Basic knowledge of how to use a video capture device such as a Insta360 Camera and/or other similar cameras.
- Able to use smart phones, Bluetooth, tablets, laptops, cameras, and complete electronic forms.
- Ability to follow turn by turn navigation at a low rate of speed.
- General car knowledge and excellent driving skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Able to meet daily/weekly property inspection needs under virtual supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Physical Requirements and working conditions:
- Physically able to drive a vehicle for extended periods and perform duties on foot, including walking over uneven terrain (some markets may require up to 50% of walking or using the GSC Tour X).
- You may be required to use a GSC Tourer X, which necessitates a vehicle with a rear hatch or a very large trunk opening for proper equipment fit.
- Schedules are determined by client needs and must be strictly followed.
- Assigned routes must be completed on the designated day as scheduled by the client. Rescheduling or performing the route on another day is not permitted.
- Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and wind. Proper precautions and attire are required to ensure safety and comfort during such conditions. The ability to maintain focus and performance while exposed to harsh weather environments is essential.
- Ability to lift 100 Pounds.
The Field Video Technician will drive (using their personal or company-owned), walk or utilize the GSC Tourer X (four-wheel mobility scooter) in tandem with apps providing pre-defined routes to capture, store, and upload video footage of residential and commercial properties, landscaping, and other useful data. This data will in turn allow the client the ability to remotely inspect and identify violations, safety issues, and other areas of concern and quickly address them.
