Crown Technical Staffing is partnering with an innovative industrial machinery manufacturer that designs and builds high-pressure hydraulic press systems used across the global food and beverage industry.
They are expanding their field service team and looking for someone who enjoys working with complex machinery, solving technical challenges, and bringing large systems online for customers.

This role is for technicians and engineers who enjoy being in the field, solving problems, installing complex systems, and helping customers get production equipment up and running.
You’ll be working with new technology, large-scale press systems and industrial machinery, collaborating directly with customers and internal teams to install, commission, and troubleshoot advanced equipment.
When you are not traveling to customer sites, you will work remotely from your home base, supporting customers through technical troubleshooting, documentation, and project coordination.

If you’ve spent time installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, or maintaining large industrial equipment, especially systems involving hydraulics and PLC controls, this role could be a natural transition.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll help customers install, commission, troubleshoot, and optimize large-scale industrial press systems.
Installation & Commissioning
- Install and commission large capital equipment systems Support mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, gas, and control system integration Ensure systems are installed safely and meet project timelines
Hydraulic & Mechanical Troubleshooting
- Work with high-pressure hydraulic systems and industrial press equipment Diagnose and resolve mechanical and hydraulic issues in the field
Controls & Diagnostics
- Read PLC ladder logic and electrical schematics Support PLC troubleshooting and system diagnostics Familiarity with Siemens, Rockwell, Wonderware, or Allen Bradley PLC platforms is preferred Programming from scratch is not required, but the ability to navigate and troubleshoot PLC logic is valuable Experience working with pneumatic systems is nice to have also.
Customer Site Leadership
- Lead installation and commissioning work at customer sites Coordinate activities with customer maintenance teams and contractors Support installation activities including rigging, electrical work, mechanical assembly, and system startup
Training & Support
- Train customers on equipment operation and maintenance Provide remote technical support between field assignments
Documentation
- Maintain accurate service documentation and project reports Communicate clearly with engineering teams and project manager
Travel Expectations
Travel varies depending on the scope of each project.
Assignments may range from:
- several days several weeks multi-month installation projects occasionally 4 to 6 months for large system deployments
Total travel averages approximately 90%, primarily within the United States with occasional international travel to Europe.
You will also occasionally travel internationally for training at the company’s overseas headquarters.
Travel & Expense Support
The company provides a structured travel support program designed to make life on the road as smooth as possible.
Flights are arranged and covered directly by the company for all project travel. Hotels and rental vehicles are booked in your name and reimbursed through the company’s bi-weekly payroll cycle. Per diem is available while traveling.
The team operates with a high level of independence and trust, giving field engineers the flexibility to manage travel logistics efficiently while staying focused on delivering successful installations.
Qualifications
- 3 to 8 years of experience in field service, industrial maintenance, commissioning, or similar roles Strong troubleshooting experience with hydraulic systems and industrial machinery Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting and diagnostics Experience with pneumatic systems preferred Experience installing or commissioning large capital equipment preferred Ability to work independently at customer sites
Additional requirements:
- U.S. citizenship required Valid U.S. passport required due to occasional international travel Ability to pass background check and drug screen Visa sponsorship is not available
An engineering degree is preferred but not required. Strong hands-on experience is highly valued.
Compensation
$80,000 – $100,000+ depending on experience
