- Diagnose and repair HVAC systems, refrigeration units—including ammonia refrigeration—and plumbing fixtures with precision and attention to detail.
- Install new equipment such as boilers, air conditioning units, and mechanical systems following schematics and HVAC design specifications.
- Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC/R equipment, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints to accurately troubleshoot issues.
- Perform electrical testing using tools like ohmmeters to identify faults in wiring or components.
- Weld metal components as needed for repairs or custom modifications using appropriate welding techniques.
- Maintain property by repairing appliances, mechanical systems, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Operate a driver vehicle safely to transport tools, parts, or equipment between job sites.
- Document all service activities thoroughly through reports and logs for quality assurance and record-keeping.
- Collaborate with team members on complex projects involving HVAC design modifications or system upgrades.
- Respond promptly to field service requests, providing exceptional customer service while resolving issues efficiently.
- Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC, refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), plumbing or related fields.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design documents.
- Hands-on experience with equipment repair—including boilers, air conditioning units, appliances—and property maintenance tasks.
- Skilled in electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters; familiar with troubleshooting electrical circuits.
- Ability to perform welding repairs safely and effectively when required.
- Knowledge of HVAC/R systems including refrigeration cycles, air conditioning principles, and ammonia refrigeration processes.
- Mechanical aptitude combined with construction experience is highly desirable for complex installations or upgrades.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for safe vehicle operation.
