We are seeking experienced DIRECTV-certified Service Technicians to support commercial and multi-dwelling unit (MDU) installations across multiple state regions. This role is ideal for independent contractors who excel in the field, work well with minimal supervision, and have hands-on experience with DIRECTV commercial systems.
Responsibilities
- Install, service, and troubleshoot DIRECTV systems for commercial and MDU properties.
- Configure SWM systems, receivers, distribution equipment, cabling routes, and headend components.
- Conduct site surveys, determine equipment requirements, and document all project details.
- Perform signal alignment, verification, quality checks, and system testing.
- Communicate professionally with property managers, on-site contacts, and business clients.
- Maintain accurate job logs, service reports, and installation documentation.
- Ensure all work meets DIRECTV, NEC, and client safety standards.
- Travel up to 75% across assigned territories — often including multi-day or out-of-area projects.
Required Qualifications
- Completed DIRECTV Retailer Technician Course
- Multiple D2 Advantage Certifications (Commercial, MDU, Hospitality, SWM, etc.)
- Strong working knowledge of MDU distribution, commercial DIRECTV systems, and structured cabling.
- Ability to terminate coax and Cat5/6, troubleshoot system issues, and use field meters.
- Capable of lifting 50+ lbs, working on ladders, and navigating tight or elevated spaces.
- Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
Preferred
- 2–5 years of satellite installation experience (commercial/MDU preferred)
- Experience with L-band distribution, headend systems, or large-property installations
- OSHA 10 or low-voltage certifications
Experience:
- DIRECTV Retailer Technician: 5 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- DIRECTV Retailer Technician Course (Required)
