About Milvian Group
Milvian Group designs and deploys smart building automation and control systems that make facilities more efficient, sustainable, and connected. We’re looking for a Field Technician who enjoys hands-on technical work, problem-solving, and travel to diverse job sites.
Position Summary
As a Field Technician, you’ll implement and commission building control systems using BACnet, Modbus, and related protocols. You’ll perform site surveys, assist with system start-up, and ensure successful project delivery. The role involves 50–70% travel, with the remainder performed remotely.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform site surveys and document existing site conditions
· Install, configure, and start up building control hardware and systems
· Implement and program control systems using BACnet, Modbus, and other communication protocols
· Conduct system commissioning, functional testing, and QA/QC verification
· Maintain detailed project documentation
· Provide client training and technical support during project turnover
· Train subcontractors and mentor junior technicians
Qualifications
· 3+ years of experience in building automation, commissioning, or system start-up
· Knowledge of control system installation and device configuration
· Experience wiring low-voltage devices
· Experience with LoRaWAN devices a plus
· Strong troubleshooting skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights; able to lift up to 35 lbs
· Familiarity with smart building systems and network protocols a plus
