We are seeking a highly skilled and reliable Access Control & Surveillance Field Technician to join our team as an independent 1099 contractor. The selected candidate will be responsible for the installation and service of commercial access control and video surveillance systems at client locations across various regions. This role requires a professional with strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently and independently in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform installation and service of access control and surveillance systems, including card readers, door hardware, control panels, CCTV cameras, and network video recorders (NVRs).
- Run, terminate, and label low-voltage cabling (Cat5e/Cat6, 18/2, 22/4, etc.) according to project specifications and standards.
- Mount, align, and test cameras, access devices, and related hardware to ensure full system functionality.
- Configure and verify network connections, system integrations, and software settings.
- Conduct system testing, verification, and troubleshooting to ensure installations meet operational and quality requirements.
- Work closely with project management to ensure timely completion and accurate documentation of each project.
- Adhere to all company and site-specific safety protocols and standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience installing and servicing commercial access control and CCTV systems.
- Strong understanding of low-voltage electrical systems, wiring methods, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and installation documentation.
- Must provide and maintain a reliable truck or van capable of transporting tools, ladders, and materials.
- Must own and maintain a complete set of basic tools and installation equipment (e.g., drill, hand tools, multimeter, cable termination tools, ladders, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving, time management, and communication skills.
- Must be willing and able to travel for extended periods as projects require.
- Ability to pass a background check and provide proof of liability insurance if requested.
Compensation & Travel:
- Contract-based compensation; rates determined by experience and project scope.
- Lodging and fuel are provided for all approved travel assignments.

Pay: $23.00 - $35.00 per hour

License/Certification:
