Responsible for providing training and technical support to distributors, technicians, contractors, distributors, and installers. Takes a lead role to support resolution of technical issues with installed Franklin Fueling Electric Fueling Systems products. Gathers and clearly communicates site-specific data and installation information to aid with the proper application or troubleshooting of Franklin Electric Fueling Systems products.
- Schedule and provide technical product training to distributors, installers, repair contractors, regulatory bodies, and others as needed.
- Support testing and troubleshooting of Franklin Electric Fueling Systems products.
- Provide onsite and virtual product support for Franklin Electric Fueling Systems products.
- Acts as a liaison between customers, contractors, product management, and engineering departments.
- Write and submit timely, accurate, complete, and concise reports documenting the involved, products, locations, retailers, distributors, contractors, problem descriptions, status, next steps, and other related information.
- Able to read and understand detailed product descriptions, site plans and drawing, engineering and regulatory documents.
- Able to use mechanical and electrical tooling such as pipe cutters, wrenches, voltmeters, etc.
- Collect and report relevant information regarding customer needs, competitive products, changes in personnel at partner organizations, and other relevant topics.
- Promote Franklin Electric Fueling Systems products and programs at tradeshows and special events.
- Conduct product demonstrations as needed.
- Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
- Ability to diagnose and solve problems in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to clearly communicate in verbal, written, presentation, and other forms.
- Public presentation skills including training of field personnel and speaking at industry events.
- Writes reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals.
- Calculates figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Defines problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draws valid conclusions.
- Interprets an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deals with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Deals with problems involving several known variables in situations of routine nature.
- Effectively communicates information and responds to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, the public, and/or other employees of the organization.
- Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Travels 75 percent of the time, including up to 50 percent overnight travel.
Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree in business administration, computer technology, engineering, or a related field (required). Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
- Five or more years of technical, sales, or related industry experience highly preferred.
- California Regulatory/CARB/Vapor Recovery experience highly experienced.
Computer Skills
- Intermediate: Contact management, presentation/PowerPoint, spreadsheet, word processing / typing.
- Basic: CAD / site plan scaling knowledge.
Certificates and Licenses
- PEI or API certifications (Preferred)
