Field Service Technician Job Responsibilities:
- On-Site Maintenance and Repair: Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on tire protection chains installed on heavy equipment, such as mining trucks and loaders at customer sites.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to tire protection chains, including chain wear, damage, and alignment problems to determine the root cause of performance issues.
- Installation and Replacement: Install new tire protection chains or replace existing chains as needed, ensuring proper fitment and alignment according to specifications.
- Technical Support: Provide technical guidance and support to customers regarding the proper use, maintenance, and troubleshooting of tire protection chains, both in-person and remotely.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of service activities, including maintenance reports, inspection findings, and parts usage to track equipment history and ensure compliance with service protocols.
- Customer Interaction: Interact professionally with customers to address their concerns, answer questions, and provide recommendations for optimizing tire protection chain performance and longevity.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to MSHA safety protocols and guidelines during service operations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to customer safety procedures.
- Training and Development: Stay updated on product knowledge, industry trends, and best practices related to tire protection chains through ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Field Service Technician Qualifications / Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or relevant vocational training preferred.
- Prior experience in a similar field service or maintenance role, preferably working with heavy equipment or industrial machinery.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment for maintenance and repair tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to working in industrial environments.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites and work flexible hours as needed.
- Ability to identify, evaluate, and problem solve in high pressure situations.
- Familiar working within Salesforce a plus.
- Ability to complete required MSHA safety training, existing certification a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and parts weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Comfort working in outdoor environments and various weather conditions.
- Agility and dexterity to maneuver in tight spaces and uneven terrain.
Location Requirements:
- Remote.
- Must live east of the Mississippi River.
