The Role:
We’re on the hunt for an experienced bookkeeper who thrives in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and can handle the nuances of managing multiple clients. This is a contract-to-hire role, designed to transition into a full-time, long-term position for the right person. You’ll play a critical role in shaping the future of our expanding team, working directly with our founder, and owning the monthly/quarterly close process.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Managing monthly/quarterly close for multiple clients in QuickBooks Online.
- Reconciling bank and credit card accounts regularly.
- Categorizing and coding transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements, including profit and loss reports and balance sheets.
- Managing payroll processing and ensuring tax compliance (GET/TAT filings).
- Generating and filing 1099s and W-2s for clients.
- Interpreting financial data from various sources and consolidating it seamlessly.
- Customizing your approach for each client’s unique needs and processes.
- Taking ownership of your schedule, deadlines, and workflow in a fully remote environment.
- Assisting in refining and improving internal processes as we grow.
Who You Are:
- Experience: 5+ years of bookkeeping experience with a strong focus on QuickBooks Online.
- Certification: QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification (within the last 2 years).
- Skills: Adept at reconciling bank accounts, categorizing transactions, preparing financial statements, managing payroll, and GET/TAT tax filings.
- Detail-Oriented: Able to spot discrepancies and solve them independently.
- Adaptable: Comfortable shifting gears between clients and navigating evolving internal processes.
- Communicative: Exceptional at written and verbal communication.
- Autonomous: Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing your own time effectively.
- Bonus Points: Experience working with businesses in Hawaii or understanding local tax laws.
