Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Designer to spearhead the redesign of Kabuk’s website, brand identity, and mobile app. This is a high-impact role where you’ll have the opportunity to shape the visual and interactive identity of Kabuk as we prepare for global expansion. The ideal candidate has at least 10 years of design experience and a proven track record of working at high-growth startups. You will collaborate closely with product, marketing, and engineering teams to build a cohesive brand presence that reflects Kabuk’s mission and vision across all platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Brand Development: Create and refine Kabuk’s brand identity, including logo, typography, color schemes, and tone of voice.
- Website and Mobile App Design: Lead the redesign of our website and mobile app, focusing on a seamless and engaging user experience.
- Landing Page Creation: Design high-converting landing pages for various marketing campaigns.
- Motion Graphics and Visual Assets: Develop visuals for social media, digital ads, and other marketing materials.
- User-Centered Design: Incorporate user feedback to iterate and improve on design concepts.
- Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product, and development teams to ensure consistent and effective branding across all touchpoints.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in web, mobile, and brand design.
- Proven experience working with high-growth startups and scaling design operations.
- Strong portfolio showcasing successful brand redesigns and mobile/web experiences.
- Expertise in tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools.
- Ability to think strategically and solve complex design challenges creatively.
- Experience collaborating with product, engineering, and marketing teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience working in both Japanese and U.S. cultures: A strong understanding of the cultural nuances between Japan and the U.S. will be highly valuable in ensuring that Kabuk’s design appeals to global audiences while staying true to its Japanese roots.
- Experience working in the travel or fintech industries.
- Knowledge of motion graphics and interaction design.
- Familiarity with UX research and user-centered design principles.
