We are seeking a hands-on Finance & Accounting Manager to oversee various financial and operational aspects of the business across accounting and FP&A. In this role, you will have one direct report, regular opportunities to interact with the executive management team, and have ample opportunities for career growth as the company scales.
However, you will spend most of your time as an individual contributor focused on strategic & operational activities in the near term.
Responsibilities
- Accounting Operations: Manage all day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, and tax compliance. Oversee monthly expense processes & payments are completed in a timely manner. Reconcile and classify monthly expenses for accurate financial reporting.
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Create financial models and forecasts to support strategic decision-making. Perform variance analysis and provide actionable insights to improve financial performance.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, reports, and dashboards to support management decision-making. Work with outside fractional CFO and auditors to support financial reporting.
- Controllership & Cash Flow Management: Ensure internal controls are robust and comply with accounting standards and regulations. Oversee cash flow forecasting and ensure the company maintains optimal liquidity
- .Systems and Tools: Implement and maintain financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and scalability
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred
- 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance; startup experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS/ASC 606) and financial modeling.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey financial insights to non-finance stakeholders
- DroneSense employees full time US citizens who are current residence in one of the 50 contiguous United States. Though our positions are "remote" we do not work with offshore/near shore individuals or contractors to stay in compliance with our client's requirements
