Position Summary
The Regional Sales Director is responsible for driving revenue growth by achieving sales targets and fostering distributor relationships. This role involves developing and executing sales strategies, maintaining customer relationships, and analyzing sales data.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Achieve sales targets as defined by the business.
- Work with Sales Leadership to develop and execute product category sales, pricing, program, and promotional strategies to meet sales and margin objectives.
- Meets with key distributor contacts, assists manufacturer representatives (agency rep) with maintaining relationships, negotiating, and closing deals.
- Develop and implement Annual Account Plans
- Review plan performance through quarterly business review process.
- Provide consistent reporting of future opportunities.
- Utilize Microsoft Power BI for sales analytics.
- Market full line of products and value-added services in a designated territory.
- Provide existing account coverage and development of new accounts.
- Develop appropriate strategies (short & long term) to suit business needs and the requirements of customers and non-customers.
- Generate and maintain a credible forecast for accounts and provide this information on a regular basis to Senior Management.
- Develop and implement a strategy for customer field visits and key contacts within planned sales and marketing campaigns.
- Research customer needs and develop application of products in an effective manner by determining market strategies/goals for each product category, researching competition, developing lists of potential customers, and developing leads.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of industry trends, establish, and maintain industry contacts that lead to sales.
- Develop and deliver sales presentations to close opportunities in a professional and effective manner by developing sales and marketing proposals for customers.
- Create detailed sales forecasting, new items and/or new business development initiatives, budgets for support program(s) spending.
- Prepare for, attend, and represent the company's business interests at industry trade shows, conventions, seminars, and other relevant events.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in sales, marketing, business or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- At least 5 years’ experience in Sales and/or Sales support roles.
- Must be familiar with the industry’s dynamics including sales cycle timing, customer portfolio management, pricing sensitivities, and an end-to-end vision/understanding of the value-chain of our business.
- Direct support of new and existing relationships with customers is a must.
- Demonstrated problem solving and negotiation skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Excellent oral communication and professional phone etiquette.
- Ability to work with little supervision.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong service attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a cross functional team to ensure customer needs are effectively met.
- Required to live in a geographic region.
- Travel expectations of 60% or greater.
