Overview:
As Marketing Manager at Story, you'll translate our brand strategy into powerful narratives and lead tactical execution across customer touch points. You'll ensure effective implementation of marketing initiatives while maintaining strategic alignment with the broader vision set by leadership. Your storytelling will be central to our email campaigns, SMS communications, major promotions, holiday planning, retail initiatives, field events, and support for wholesale and 3rd party retailers. Your mission is to create a cohesive and engaging brand story that resonates with our audience, supports our house brands and drives Story's goals of profitability and operational efficiency.
Your core responsibilities:
- Translate high-level marketing communications strategy into actionable
- campaign plans and content calendars for Story and our house brands
- Lead tactical execution of marketing initiatives
- Manage day-to-day marketing operations and campaign implementation
- while ensuring alignment with strategic objectives
- Direct and supervise the Marketing Coordinator in the execution of email,
- SMS, social media, and other channel-specific scheduling activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to uncover and articulate unique
- stories about our products, processes, and people that differentiate Story
- in the market
What your days look like:
- Provide direction and mentorship to the Marketing Coordinator, ensuring
- quality and consistency in all marketing executions
- Translate Director-level strategic initiatives into clear action plans for the
- marketing team
- Serve as the key liaison between leadership's strategic vision and
- ground-level implementation
- Collaborate with the creative team to translate stories into visually
- compelling content across various mediums
- Partner with wholesale and retail teams to create narrative-driven
- marketing materials that support their objectives
- Conduct research and interviews within the organization to uncover
- unique stories and insights
- Develop and execute content calendars that ensure a consistent flow of
- engaging stories across all channels
- Analyze engagement metrics to refine storytelling approaches and
- optimize impact
Your cross-functional partners:
- Performance/E-commerce Team: Ensure that storytelling elements are
- effectively integrated into digital marketing initiatives. Collaborate on
- analytics insights to continue to drive better customer experience,
- conversion and retention rates
- Retail Team: Develop narrative-driven experiences that enhance in-store
- customer engagement and drive foot traffic
- Product and Supply Chain: Collaborate to uncover compelling stories
- about our products and processes. Leverage inventory insights and
- upcoming innovation to drive promotion, storytelling, and incentive
- programming
- Wholesale Team: Craft compelling brand stories that wholesale partners
- and 3rd party retailers can leverage to drive sales
Who you are:
- You have a bias toward action, with an eye on solutions and are
- exceptionally detail-oriented
- You're not afraid to roll up your sleeves and bring fresh ideas and
- solutions to the table
- Proven marketing professional with 5+ years of experience in multi-channel marketing and content strategy
- A skilled storyteller with a passion for crafting compelling narratives that
- resonate with diverse audiences
- Proven ability to translate high-level strategy into tactical marketing plans
- Strong project management skills with experience leading cross-functional marketing initiatives
- Creative thinker with the ability to find and articulate the unique stories
- within a brand, its products, and community
- Strong writing skills with the ability to adapt tone and style for various
- channels and audiences
- Data-savvy, with the ability to use metrics to inform and refine marketing
- and storytelling approaches
- Collaborative team player who can work effectively across departments
- to gather insights and implement cohesive marketing strategies
- Experience in the cannabis industry is a plus, but not required
- Familiarity with multi-brand marketing and supporting wholesale
- partnerships is highly desirable
