Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Accountant to oversee the financial health and growth of the Services/Consulting division of the firm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial planning, analysis, reporting, and budgeting to support the overall business objectives and maximize profitability. The Senior Accountant will also be responsible for overseeing the monthly closing processes and financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. This individual will work closely with the executive team of the business unit, reporting directly to the SPG executive team to drive financial strategies while leading the finance and accounting team staff.
Remote position, but only candidates in the Midwest.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and provide strategic direction to the finance and accounting team, overseeing all financial operations and month-end closing processes.
- Execute month-end closing process and running of reports for G/L systems (Oracle and NetSuite)
- Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement financial strategies, reporting, and forecasting to support business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, reporting requirements, and company policies.
- Execute month-end closing processes, balance sheet account reconciliation, and accurate financial reporting.
- Perform administrative project setup, management of the project database, setup of new employees and subcontractors, tracking project budgets, and completion of project close outs.
- Perform invoice/bill creation, recording receipts/payments, accrual, true-up, settlement, and bad debt calculations.
- Manage time and expense entries, including expense reimbursements.
- Reconcile inter-agency activity between HUBS and update data for new clients' general and financial information.
- Support other departments in developing long-term financial plans and forecasts.
- Foster a culture of accountability and high performance within the finance and accounting team.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Proven experience in a senior financial management role within the consulting industry, including at least 3+ years of corporate accounting field experience and leading others on projects or teams.
- Strong financial analysis, reporting, and modeling skills.
- Knowledge of financial regulations, compliance, and reporting requirements.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute financial strategies to drive business growth.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in financial management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and advanced Excel and NetSuite skills.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- High degree of accuracy with a good eye for detail.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and achieve results in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Must have flexibility of work hours and the ability to potentially put in extra hours during peak times.
