The Foundation for Government Accountability (FGA) is seeking to hire a detail-oriented, highly motivated Graphic Designer to develop compelling, brand-aligned visual assets that captivate and inform our audiences.

This isn’t a passive design role—the ideal candidate will be driven to help FGA achieve policy objectives through memorable visuals. You’ll be expected to design print and digital materials, along with website pages for all FGA departments; these visual products will be consistently on-brand and in alignment with the organization’s goals and expectations. On any given day, you may be designing a landing page for a particular policy solution, creating social media graphics, or designing an unforgettable research paper cover. You’ll be expected to not only think creatively and “outside the box” but also ensure each piece of collateral you design meets FGA’s high standards of quality and brand to effectively communicate our key messages.

The ideal candidate will have an extensive graphic design portfolio demonstrating the ability to work under pressure, think and design creatively, and meet tight deadlines without sacrificing quality.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Graphic Designer will have five primary roles, broken down into key responsibilities. They are:

Design Visuals and Materials Across FGA Departments

The Graphic Designer will design visuals and printed materials, as assigned or requested, for all FGA departments, in alignment with FGA’s unique brand. This may include research papers, one-pagers, poll crosstabs, social media graphics, website pages, and more.
The ability to take direction and constructive criticism is a must, as is a willingness to advocate for brand consistency and make suggestions when reviewing existing collateral. The ideal candidate will pay strong attention to details, ensuring all designs are pixel-perfect and error-free.

Website Graphic Design and User-Experience Development

In this role, you’ll work with the web developer and digital marketing director to design graphics for FGA websites and landing pages that maintain our branding standards and effectively communicate key messages.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of creating a seamless user experience and will have demonstrated familiarity with web design tools and platforms like WordPress, Figma, or similar.

Project Workflow and File Management

FGA produces hundreds of pieces of collateral each year. Part of your role will be to take ownership of the design workflow process so that this collateral moves smoothly through design, review, revision, and finalization and is delivered on time and tracked.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized and help maintain our file management system, ensuring we can find what we need when we need it.

Brand Stewardship and Consistency

FGA has built a highly respected brand, and part of your role will be to maintain and steward that brand—you’ll review and refine materials produced by other departments and consistently uphold brand guidelines in all collateral requests.
The ideal candidate will maintain a curiosity about relevant design trends, ensuring our visuals stay fresh, innovative, and competitive.

Provide Backup for Senior Designer

This role will provide reliable support for the senior designer, providing design QC checks and responding to collateral design requests during periods of absence.
The ideal candidate will be expected to quickly develop a reputation for consistency, responsiveness, and reliability and be able to work well individually and as part of a team.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in graphic design for digital and print, as well as proven proficiency in web design and user experience. A substantial portfolio of graphic design work is required.
Substantial work experience may be a substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) for digital and print design; experience with web design tools and platforms (e.g., WordPress, Figma, or similar) to create engaging user experiences; strong familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Basecamp) to track and manage workflows efficiently.
Demonstrated ability to think creatively and “outside the box” while remaining brand-aware.
The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, able to balance competing priorities and deadlines, and work well under pressure without sacrificing quality.

TIMING, LOCATION, AND COMPENSATION

FGA is seeking to fill this position as soon as possible. FGA’s headquarters are in Naples, FL, but nearly all of FGA’s staff work remotely. FGA has built a highly successful remote work culture over the past decade with systems and structures designed for clarity, flexibility, and great communication. Key elements of the environment include:

Quarterly in-person team meetings at which you’ll build deeper relationships, set clear goals aligned with FGA’s big vision, and brainstorm how to seize new opportunities
An intensive 90-day orientation to familiarize you with the FGA team, our policies, and how we operate
Home office setup, including equipment and communication tools you need to hit the ground running

FGA offers a competitive salary of between $65,000-$75,000 depending on experience, education, and qualifications, and a benefits package, including a six percent retirement match, health benefit, and generous paid leave plan.
