Remote Position | Mexico-Based Candidates Preferred

Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Pacific Time Schedule

Pay: $7.00 – $10.00 USD per hour, based on experience

Custodio & Dubey LLP is seeking an experienced Remote Legal Assistant to support our attorneys with civil litigation matters, case management, client communication, document organization, and administrative legal support.

This position is ideal for someone based in Mexico who has prior legal experience, is highly organized, and is comfortable working remotely with a California-based law firm. Being able to work during Pacific Time business hours is a plus, but not required.

The main goal of this role is to assist attorneys with their day-to-day legal and administrative needs to help cases move forward efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Assist attorneys with daily legal and administrative tasks
Help manage and organize active case files
Draft and prepare basic legal correspondence, letters, and internal notes
Communicate with clients by phone, email, and text
Follow up with clients regarding documents, updates, forms, and missing information
Update case information in Filevine and internal tracking systems
Help maintain accurate spreadsheets, reports, and case status updates
Upload, organize, and label documents, photos, records, and case materials
Assist with scheduling attorney calls, client meetings, deadlines, and follow-ups
Track pending tasks, deadlines, and reminders
Support attorneys with document preparation and case organization
Help request, collect, and organize records and case-related documents
Communicate with internal team members through Slack and other platforms
Provide general remote administrative support to the legal team

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of legal experience required
Prior experience assisting attorneys required
Civil litigation experience is a strong plus
Experience with California courts, filings, deadlines, or procedures is a plus

Experience with Filevine or Slack a plus

Strong English communication and writing skills | C1 or C2 certification preferred

Reliable internet connection and quiet remote work environment

Experience in any of the following areas is preferred:

Habitability & Tenant Rights ( a plus)
Personal injury
Employment law
Immigration law
General civil litigation

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $129.00 - $185.00 per hour

Experience:

Legal Assistant: 1 year (Required)
