Title: Executive Director

Location: Remote worker with occasional in-person meetings in Minnesota and at national American College of Physicians (ACP) meetings.

Hours: Variable -may range from 5 hours/week (in the summer) to 37 hours per week in September-October

Compensation: Negotiable as independent contractor, depending on experience and education with range of $40-$60/hour for contracted hours annually.

Start date: 2/3/25

Responsibilities/Deliverables:

Provide support for nonprofit Board of Directors and Executive Committee; regular communications with Governor/President, Committee chairs, and sub-contractors;
Liaison with national American College of Physicians (ACP) for national/regional/state advocacy, adult medicine leadership, professional development and promoting health policy priorities;
Liaison with Minnesota partners (state agencies, other medical professional groups; post graduate training programs, and community groups);
Health policy promotion via engagement with physicians/trainees and elected officials at the state and local level for adult medicine priorities;
Providing professional education (CME/MOC) opportunities in partnership with state and national organizations; and
Grant writing, financial management, report preparation, and ensuring completion of project deliverables in partnership with sub-contractors.

At least 3 years working in a nonprofit organization in a management capacity required. An independent worker and self-starter with excellent writing, communication and project management skills. Proven experience in grant writing, management and reporting. Involvement in advocacy and policy work and understanding of Minnesota’s legislative landscape. Personal commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, which are foundational to the chapter’s policy goals.
