Role Overview

The Remote Legal Intake Specialist serves as the first point of contact for prospective new clients. This role is responsible for answering inbound calls, responding to inquiries, gathering essential information, and guiding qualified individuals to the next step in the firm’s process.

This is not a receptionist role.

This is a client-facing, conversation-driven position that directly impacts client experience and case qualification. The Intake Specialist must communicate with empathy, professionalism, and clarity, especially when speaking with individuals who may feel overwhelmed or distressed due to workplace issues.

Intake Specialists do not provide legal advice. Instead, they follow a structured intake process to collect accurate information, qualify potential cases, and schedule consultations when appropriate.

Ideal Candidate Profile

You are empathetic but structured. Professional but personable. You can manage emotional conversations while maintaining clarity and control. You understand that accuracy, discretion, and communication are essential when handling sensitive workplace matters.

Compensation:

$7 - $8 hourly

Responsibilities:

Answer inbound calls promptly and professionally
Respond to missed calls and online inquiries
Build rapport and establish trust with callers
Gather and verify detailed information about employment or probate matters
Identify qualifying criteria based on firm guidelines
Schedule consultations and clearly communicate next steps
Conduct follow-ups and manage no-shows
Maintain organized and accurate CRM documentation
Adhere to firm systems, scripts, and training protocols

Qualifications:

Requirements:

Strong verbal communication skills
High emotional intelligence and active listening ability
Comfortable handling sensitive and confidential workplace issues
Ability to guide conversations without sounding scripted
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to remain calm and professional with emotional callers
Minimum 2 years of phone-based intake, customer service, or client-facing experience
Law firm experience preferred but not required
Experience in employment law intake is a strong plus
Sales or consultation-setting experience is a bonus

Technical Requirements:

Comfortable using CRM systems
Ability to type and take notes simultaneously during calls
Reliable high-speed internet connection
Quiet, professional home office environment
